Sustainability at Afi

“Afi was founded on values very close to what we now understand as sustainability. Since our inception, we have combined our business interests with a special sensitivity to social and environmental progress. Today, we continue to dedicate the same effort to positively impact our customers, students and employees, among many other interest groups; and to reduce our impact on the planet.”

For the environment
For the environment
We consider respect for the environment as one of the main elements of the concept of sustainability, which is why we are committed to continuing to move towards a more sustainable model, based on digital transformation and the reduction of emissions, where respect and protection of the environment are integrated into all our processes and activities.
Our Environmental Policy establishes a frame of reference for reducing environmental impact and integrating nature protection. It defines the principles of action for environmental and natural capital management.
How do we implement our strategy?
1. We improve our environmental performance
- We have an Environmental Management System (EMS) certified through the ISO 14001, which allows the identification of the environmental aspects most relevant to Afi's activity.
- The SGA facilitates the control of energy and water resources and other consumptions that depend on the natural environment.
- Contribution to the circular economy by identifying the types of waste that we generate and mark an action for each of them.
2. Leadership and Environmental Responsibility
- Afi has a person responsible for the environmental management system and ensures that the processes are operational and that the processes are operational.
- Our management team is committed to the permanent adaptation of the SGA, in order to continuously improve its effectiveness, adapting it to current business and market conditions and to customer requirements.
3. We measure our GHG emissions and offset our footprint
- Since 2019, we have been measuring the carbon footprint (scopes 1 and 2) and, since 2021, it has been registered in the Carbon Footprint and Greenhouse Gas Emission Absorption Projects Register of the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC) of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
- Afi, committed to improving the natural environment, offsets its GHG emissions with forest restoration projects for quarries and mines.
