Socio-economic impact of OUIGO in Spain

Since its entry into the market, OUIGO has transformed Spanish high speed, promoting competition, mobility and sustainability. In this report prepared by Afi, we comprehensively analyze the effect of its operations on the Spanish economy and society in three areas: economic footprint, social and territorial cohesion, and environmental impact.

The main findings include:

• 159 million euros of total contribution to GDP and 2,890 jobs created in 2024.
• Every euro generated by OUIGO impulsa Another 9 euros in the economy thanks to its tractor effect on suppliers.
• The expense of tourists traveling with OUIGO generated An additional 610 million euros and 11,000 jobs more in 2024.
• 40% reduction in the average ticket price after liberalization.

• 1 in 3 residents in depopulated areas already accesses the service.
