Since joining Afi in 1999, he has worked in the Market Studies department (which he headed up between 2007 and 2009) and the Financial Advisory department. He is currently responsible for the provision of advisory services to foreign institutional clients and to financial institutions in the areas of treasury management, wholesale funding and retail banking.

He has written a number of books and many research papers and collaboration pieces for Spanish and international economic publications. He is a regular lecturer for the Masters in Banking and Finance provided by Afi, Escuela de Finanzas and bespoke courses put together for financial institutions and corporates.
