We firmly believe that
corporate social responsibility (CSR) can make an important contribution to public welfare. To this end, in 1999 we created
The Afi Foundation, a private non-profit body, to promote financial culture and education both in Spain and in developing countries.
The Afi Foundation is a clear demonstration of our conviction that
financial inclusion, innovation and education are key to strengthening a country's economic development and contributing to the relief of poverty. Our CSR includes both
independent activities and projects where we collaborate with other organisations and institutions. There are two main areas of action:
- Financial education and financial culture, including organising conferences, participating in public debates and funding various grants to study in our Afi Escuela de Finanzas Aplicadas.
- Development cooperation projects in the field of financial inclusion. This area includes technical assistance for developing innovative models for financial inclusion, usually based on the use of common technologies.
Every year Afi commits up to
0.5% of its total consultancy hours to projects promoted through the Afi Foundation,
thus turning our experience and knowledge into the main asset we give back to society.
