Public authorities
The weight of the public sector in the Spanish economy has diminished in the past years; however, its importance as a social and economic catalyst remains as relevant as ever, if not more. Meanwhile, its structural complexity has increased. Firstly, due to the creation of numerous dependent entities at all levels of the administration that are specialized in achieving specific targets. And secondly, due to an unprecedented decentralization process where extensive competences are now assigned uniformly across the nation among regional and municipal authorities.
In this concontents, while the central administration is removing obstacles that may prevent its citizens from performing their activities efficiently, the regional and municipal authorities are directly competing to attract the best resources to increase the well-being and economic development of their area of influence. To make this possible, regional governments and local councils require their institutions to implement efficient management models that stimulate civil servants and enable effective planning and provision of public services.
Afi’s goal is to support governments and administrations in the process of management modernization from an economic and financial management standpoint. Since 1994 we have specialized in advising and providing consulting services to the government in finance, budgeting, organization and procedures, public service management models, and territorial strategy formulation. To this end, Afi has a team of highly qualified professionals specialized in different fields of economic and budget management of public entities, who know the peculiarities and requirements in this field (legislation, budget system, control systems, economic planning, local development, etc.)
Afi has three areas of specialization. First, fiscal policy, budget and financial planning, organization and public sector control, concessions and public services, etc. Secondly, public financing, debt and treasury management, investment feasibility plans, etc. Thirdly, applied territorial economics, the creation and monitoring of sector research, strategic planning, regional economic analysis, etc.
